Type

Body text and headings are set in Source Serif 4; the call logs, ledgers, chips, and figures are set in IBM Plex Mono. Both are open-source faces under the SIL Open Font License, subset to the characters this site uses and served from this domain as woff2 files — the whole font payload is under 60 KB.

Colour

Two accent inks carry meaning and everything else is greyscale. The keypad-backlight blue marks the period record: dated facts, call-log dates, ledger rows, link underlines, and the signal-bar site mark. The signal red marks a quantity — money, units, percentages, usually a decline. The palette ships in light and dark modes, and every text colour meets WCAG AA contrast on its background.

Tooling

Every page is hand-written HTML with one shared stylesheet. The site renders identically with scripting off, and every resource on every page is served from this domain. Hosting is Cloudflare Pages; one small serverless function receives the contact form.

Images

Article heroes are original generated illustrations in a single house style — a schematic glyph drawn in backlight blue on a dark ground, like the outer display of a 2005 clamshell — and each caption names the image as an illustration. Period artifacts are cited and linked at their archival source, and any historical photograph or screenshot that ever appears carries a per-image credit line naming its source and license.
